Boris chats all of the news of the week and gets the fan perspective from friend of the show and Emmy Award winner, Chris Van Vliet. Boris and Chris chat about CM Punk and WWE Payback.
We then turn things to you as Boris is joined by Jake Allonar who is in Chicago taking in all of the festivities for AEW. We get an in-person view and reaction to the CM Punk news.

September 2nd, 2023 is a day that will live in infamy. We kick off this AfterCast catching you up on CM Punk being terminated by AEW. Brad & Greg (SmackDaddies) and Matt (3D & BAM) recap the Payback PLE from Pittsburgh, PA.
We had a fantastic cage match between Trish and Becky that Matt will be covering at the end of the year. John Cena as special guest host and special guest referee (with a special guest appearance of John Cena’s bald spot) in the Miz/LA Knight Match. Greg forgot that we had an Austin Theory and Rey Mysterio Match.
The Tag Title Match had us all gushing over the Judgement Day and Kevin and Sami, but did we like how it ended? Grayson Waller had an interaction with Cody and Raw’s newest superstar. RR took on RR for the women’s title in a match that didn’t meet its mark. We finished our night with Shinsuke Nakamura and Seth Rollins culminating their build with a match we felt wasn’t a main event and wondered if we’d have a MITB cash in. In tonight's solo episode, Brad, the dad, delves into SmackDown's go-home show for the blue brand leading up to Payback. The reason there is a question in the title is not due to a mistake by a dyslexic podcast host; it's a legitimate query. John Cena made his return and had interactions with the Bloodline. We witnessed two distinct tag matches involving the LWO, saw the Tag Champs make an appearance, experienced backstage drama, observed a women's match featuring Bayley and Shotzi, and witnessed a main event showdown between AJ Styles and Solo Sokoa, along with more Bloodline drama throughout the episode (cue suspenseful sound effect).
